About T. Arthur Mason
T. Arthur Mason is a native North Dakotan who has spent nearly all of his life in the Peace Garden State. As the third of four children in Western North Dakota, Mason grew to appreciate family and the outdoors. Some of his fondest memories are annual deer hunts with family and friends. In his early teenage years, faith became a central part of T. Arthur Mason's life. He and the majority of his family attend church together on a weekly basis and find this a fulfilling aspect of their lives. Through the influence of his father, T. Arthur Mason became intrigued with politics. As a boy, he attended political events with his father and enjoyed the friendships that resulted as a byproduct of those political associations. As Mason grew older, he became convinced that the quote often attributed to Thomas Jefferson was true, "That government is best which governs least." Today, T. Arthur Mason enjoys time with his wife and children, an occasional hunt, and an increasingly active life on the political scene. This blog is the fulfillment of a dream to design a web site in the realm of politics and to advocate for the principles of Liberty and constitutionally limited government. On behalf of all those that contribute to The Minuteman, we hope you enjoy your time on the site and will share the message with others.

July 7, 2017 T. Arthur Mason

Christians Should Stop Supporting Confiscatory Taxation

July 6, 2017 T. Arthur Mason

I was recently following a conversation between multiple individuals on the topic of taxation. As is typically the case, the conversation included various points of view, but one comment was especially prevalent to me. It is the argument that big [read more…]

Heitkamp Pulls Life & Death Card in Interview on Health Care

July 4, 2017 T. Arthur Mason

There’s more than one reason I would love the debate on health care in Washington, DC to go away. The primary one being that the federal government has no Constitutional authority to be involved in health care in the first [read more…]

Does the War on Marijuana Make Sense?

June 30, 2017 T. Arthur Mason

The North Dakota media is making a big deal about “one of the largest seizures of marijuana in state history” being made Tuesday evening during a traffic stop near Berthold. Apparently 122 pounds of the stuff was confiscated– a street [read more…]

June 29, 2017 T. Arthur Mason

The title of this article is not an embellishment… at all. Those of us who advocate for the abolition of property taxes have said it time and time again. So long as property taxes exist, we will never truly own [read more…]

“Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.”
