ACTION ALERT: 2nd Amendment Rally Saturday at State Capitol

North Dakota State Capitol

Supporters of the 2nd Amendment, from across North Dakota, are expected to gather at the State Capitol tomorrow in Bismarck. This gathering is just one of many that will take place across all 50 states. It is known as the “Americans for America Rally”. Details are as follows:

Americans for America – Bismarck Rally
Saturday, April 14th – 12:30pm
(program starts after 1:00pm)
North Dakota State Capitol Grounds*
600 E Boulevard Ave
Bismarck, ND 58505

Organizers of the event have released the following statement:

“The Second Amendment isn’t just about guns. It’s about supporting the natural rights of self-defense, resistance to oppression and the civic duty to act in defense of our families and our communities. The Second Amendment guarantees to every law-abiding adult the right to bear arms. The purpose of this rally is to express the numerous ways in which the concept of self-protection is integral to a safe, free and just society. Self-defense is indeed at the core of the Second Amendment. The Founding Fathers’ view of self-protection is that it is a moral imperative as well as a pragmatic necessity. It’s value lays less in repelling dangers than in deterring them before they occur.

“Too many modern thinkers strip away our natural born right to self-protection by limiting the available weapons that are at our disposal, by blaming violence on everything except the sole responsible party, the person involved in the action. We stand with thousands of American patriots across the nation, as we will assemble at every state capital to show our support for our 2nd Amendment rights and to support our Constitution as a whole. We call upon all individuals of like mind to support us and honor our Forefathers who sacrificed and dedicated so much for us to have the freedoms we do today.

“*It is illegal to bear arms on capitol grounds, so remember that this is not a concealed-carry event. Let’s work to change the law, but respect the law in the meantime. Let’s not give media the opportunity to spin this event as a bunch of lawbreakers.”

Here’s a video from Rep. Luke Simons (R – District 36) with an invitation:

T. Arthur Mason is a native North Dakotan who has spent nearly all of his life in the Peace Garden State. As the third of four children in Western North Dakota, Mason grew to appreciate family and the outdoors. Some of his fondest memories are annual deer hunts with family and friends. In his early teenage years, faith became a central part of T. Arthur Mason's life. He and the majority of his family attend church together on a weekly basis and find this a fulfilling aspect of their lives. Through the influence of his father, T. Arthur Mason became intrigued with politics. As a boy, he attended political events with his father and enjoyed the friendships that resulted as a byproduct of those political associations. As Mason grew older, he became convinced that the quote often attributed to Thomas Jefferson was true, "That government is best which governs least." Today, T. Arthur Mason enjoys time with his wife and children, an occasional hunt, and an increasingly active life on the political scene. This blog is the fulfillment of a dream to design a web site in the realm of politics and to advocate for the principles of Liberty and constitutionally limited government.
